92 and Still Going Strong Part 2

Yesterday's message looked at USA Today's July 5 article, entitled "Scandals Nothing New to Business Guru", how it shared a message from Peter Drucker one of the foremost management consultants in America and how a deeper look provides several valuable lessons. SEE THE ARTICLE

This article explains how Drucker at age 92 has seen all the economic messes we are experiencing before, the scandals, the market meltdowns and unethical behavior. Drucker began working as a journalist at the age of 20 in 1929 so he saw the first great crash on Wall Street.

The second valuable lesson is the simple idea that our messages have been hammering on again and again, that the western economy and Wall Street run in thirty-year cycles of about fifteen years up and fifteen years down. We are in year three of a fifteen year down cycle. This is nothing unusual or even bad! More fortunes are started in the down cycle than the up!

The third valuable lesson in this article is about merchandising and business. "Drucker describes himself as a 'one man organization'. "I don't even have a secretary", he says. "I just use a woman to do my typing and keep in touch with my clients, even if I have had no business with them for twenty years. They are still friends. If you do a diagram of my work, in the center is writing, then comes consulting then comes teaching. I like to teach because that's the way I learn."

The valuable lessons here are first, that one does not have to have a huge organization to enjoy outstanding success. (This is what we teach in our course International Business Made EZ) - TO SEE MORE

The merchandising lesson in the above is one that we teach at our course; let every aspect of your business lead to another sale! For example in Drucker's case he teaches students who will become executives at corporations that are likely to hire him. Second, these corporations who hire him are likely to buy his books for their employees. Third, the books are likely to be read by students who come to learn from him and who will one day run corporations that hire him. Each successful step is leads to the next.

Perhaps the most important lesson of all is that Drucker loves working with these people. He stays in touch even 20 years after they were clients. Our courses on business show why turning your passion into profit is the most important aspect of every successful business.

There is one final and most important lesson shared in tomorrow's lesson!

Hope to see you in London and Copenhagen. TO SEE DETAILS

Until then, good international business to you!

Gary
